Ok, here’s my deal. I’m a Chiefs fan. After a few run ins with the law, Larry Johnson seems to have learned his lesson. At least in regards to legal trouble. We still hear about LJ out buying $1000 bottles of vodka and hanging out with movie stars. Say all you want about a bad offensive line (and it is truly horrid), but he didn’t look sharp or tough last season. He looked soft and uncommitted. When guys are pulling this kind of stuff, they just aren’t committed to football. Sure, these guys are going to have interests outside of football and you want to develop that certain swagger and ego in a guy that will translate to a great player on the field. But when their interests (like riding a motorcycle without a helmet) put their team and fans behind having a good time, then you’ve got a problem.
Good point, pberry. But my question is, why do we continue to support guys that put their team and fans behind having a good time by buying tickets to see them and their jerseys?
We? Do you have a mouse in your pocket? Don’t include me in that. I’m too cheap to buy jerseys or tickets (at least tickets to anything besides $2 Tuesday).
So you don’t financially support any of the entities that the giant NFL Marketing Gurus have dreamt up?
You’re a better person than I am, then.
I did mean the collective “we” but will admit my shortcomings to anyone that will listen. LOL
I really can’t think of anything I do except to watch the games, which generates ad revenue. I’m just cheap.
Cheap or genius? Next podcast subject? LOL
I think that the Denver Post has been on a crusade for whatever reason to railroad Brandon Marshall out of town. He’s far, far away from anything PacMan or Ray Lewis and the true bad crowd of the NFL has been doing. C’mon Post..Major story about an “illegal lane change”??? I think that we need to just chill, let Shanahan and the coaches do their job, and enjoy the young man’s gift on the field. GO BRONCOS !!
Cap, that made a lot of sense. I really feel bad for what I said. I think I’ll send beemarsh a big mac as an apology. Seriously though, you’re right about the lane change thing. But the rest of his record is a real issue. Assault against a cop in college. Assault against his girlfriend. DUI. Is that bad? It’s not good.
pberry-
Sent you an email and wanted to make sure you got it and it doesn’t land in your spam folder. Can you let me know you received it?
Thanks.
I agree..Brandon Marshall is not in trouble with the fans for a lane change violation. Its because he seems to always be doing something. Shanahan is not going to get rid of him for those things though. He will get rid of Brandon Marshall if he is no longer of any use on the field. If he catches 100 balls he’ll stay in Dove Valley.
